Vivekanandan Krishnaveni Sasikala the trusted aide of late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa has tested positive for Covid. It is known that Sasikala is currently lodged in Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. The 66-yr old who tested positive for Coronavirus is said to be suffering from fever and breathing issues. She has been admitted to the Covid ward of Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in Shivaji Nagar for further medical treatment.
She was imprisoned in the disproportionate assets case for allegedly having laundered the wealth amassed by the late TN CM and was pronounced guilty on 14th February 2017. It is known that Sasikala was about to be released on the 27th of January. Earlier, it was speculated that Sasikala’s political entry would have altered Tamil Nadu politics. In this scenario, just when she was to be released, Sasikala has tested positive for Covid19. He health is being monitored by a special team of doctors in the Covid ward.
