The most awaited sporting event that cricket lovers in India look forward to is the Indian Premier League and the BCCI has geared up to organize the 14th edition of the most lucrative event. The road map for the cricketing event is expected to be finalized soon with the mini-auction to be held in the third week of February. Meanwhile, Brijesh Patel the Chairman of IPL made it clear that franchises will be given a limit of Rs 85 crore towards the player purchase and that it cannot be increased further.
Deadline for franchises
All arrangements regarding the IPL 2021 are currently underway. Brijesh Patel the IPL Chairman has already informed all franchises that January 21st would be the deadline for player retention and the trading window ends on February 4th. However, coming to the player auction the IPL Chairman stated that a date would be announced soon and the mini-auction would be held in the second or third week of the coming month.
Coming to Mumbai Indians
It is learnt that the Mumbai Indians team intends to retain all its players as it looks a very set team and that plans are on to release only a few players to increase their purse limit from Rs 1.95 crores. While Rajasthan Royals has Rs 14.75 crores, Sunrise Hyderabad has Rs 10.1 crores, Delhi Capitals has Rs 9 crores, Kolkata Knight Riders has Rs 8.5 crores and Royal Challengers Bangalore has Rs 6.4 crores left.
