As political leaders always say, there aren’t permanent friends nor permanent enemies in politics. Few parties behave in such a way that there should be no permanent enemies and also no temporary enemies. One among these is the Shiv Sena which was formed to achieve the aspirations of Chhatrapati Shivaji. While, the Shiv Sena, irrespective of being in power or in opposition, will target those who are against them. Right from Prime Minister Modi to the poor in Dharavi slum, they support their deeds with their Saamna newspaper. Now they are targeting Sonu Sood. They alleged that Sonu had converted a six-storied building in Shakti Nagar in Mumbai into a hotel a few years ago. The officials said that there was no response to the notices issued by the BMC officials hence they complained to the Juhu area police. The police have registered a case against Sonu Sood and his wife Sonali.
However, Sonu Sood responded to this and said they had all permits and would only need a change of user permit from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA). He said that he had applied for the change several days ago but could not get it done due to non-functioning of offices during Covid lockdown. On the other hand, there have been criticisms against the Shiv Sena Party, for targeting Sonu Sood.
Sonu Sood, who plays villainous characters in movies, had become the person everyone wants in lockdown time. He pledged his assets to the tune of Rs 10 Crore for service activities and stood by the poor. The booking of flights to deport Indians stranded abroad, the booking of hundreds of buses for domestic transport facilities as well as various programs. In AP a farmer was gifted a tractor and he stood for many poor in Mumbai. This made Sonu internationally famous. However, the ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra reacted differently.
Shiv Sena feels that either PM Modi or another force is behind Sonu as this was said by party leader Sanjay Raut. He said Sonu would soon meet Modi and become a celebrity manager in Mumbai. He said, during Covid, Sonu Sood turned a new Mahatma Gandhi. Raut went on to question as to how the actor could book so many buses. It is known that the actor had helped many stranded migrants reach their hometown during the lockdown when the states failed to do so. He further said that Sonu is a good actor and there is a political director behind him. Already the Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari had likened Sonu Sood to Gandhi.
It is said that Shiv Sena is targeting Sonu in wake of the criticism on the migrant labourers’ issues. There is a feeling that the party has been targeting the actor by booking a case. Earlier BJP supporter Kangana Ranaut was targeted and her house was demolished after she referred Mumbai to ‘POK’.
