He was 53.<\/p>\n<p>Asif Basra came into limelight playing the role of a media person in the recent thriller series <em>Paatal Lok<\/em>. Police said that an investigation has been launched and forensic teams have been brought into the scene to ascertain the cause of death. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Asif committed suicide by hanging. As per reports, the actor had leased a property at the hill station which is also a tourist spot popular for having Dalai Lama\u2019s residence.<\/p>\n<p>Anurag Kashyap&#8217;s <em>Black Friday<\/em> and Rahul Dholakia&#8217;s <em>Parzania<\/em> brought him much critical acclaim.
