The Congress party in Telangana is a sinking ship. Already, the seats won in the Assembly elections have been handed over to the TRS, with a majority of Congress MLAs swearing their allegiance to the ruling party. Interestingly, none of the senior Congress leaders reacted on the issue, with the party failing miserably to counter the TRS. Criticism is that no efforts were taken by the party high command to stop those leaders from deserting the party.<\/p>\n
Lack of support?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n The situation in the Congress party is such that the leaders are having their own agenda. They are busy with their own programs in the party. With MPs and MLAs going their own route, it has become difficult for the party to survive. Reportedly, the Congress\u2019 performance in the Dubbaka by-election was unimpressive and far below expectations as everyone thought that the new in-charge Manickam Tagore would succeed in rejuvenating the party. He had planned the Dubbaka campaign in his own style and appointed special in-charges for villages and Mandal’s to counter the TRS and BJP. However, criticism is that the party leaders did not show interest in implementing those plans.<\/p>\n Will be wholly dusted in Greater elections<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n With the ensuing Greater Elections, the party has further gone into a slump. All the key leaders in Greater are leaving the party one by one. Former Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy, Bikshapathi Yadav M, a key Congress leader and his son Ravi Yadav too joined the Saffron Party following an invitation by senior BJP leader Bhupendra Yadav, who\u2019s incharge of the Hyderabad Civic Polls. Some other leaders from Serilingampally too have joined the BJP.
