It has been one and half years since the YSRCP government came into power, still, the formation of regional development boards have not been taken up and the leaders who were expecting the posts are a worried lot now. Many party leaders are waiting for the post since it is a cabinet ranked one.<\/p>\n
CM YS Jagan had proposed to set up four regional boards having assumed charge in Andhra Pradesh. As per the proposal, leaders who couldn\u2019t get minister post could be accommodated in these boards. However, with the proposal now stuck in a limbo, Jagan isn\u2019t keen on regional board at present and this has led to a discussion within the party.<\/p>\n
To remove disparities among regions in the State, it was mulled to form regional boards. Earlier, the former AP CM of the undivided state late YS Rajasekhara Reddy had formed regional development boards. Apart from developing the region, the board helps the leaders who are loyal to the party as it is a cabinet ranked one. Everyone had an eye on this after Chief Minister Jagan decided to have four development boards in the State. The boards include Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam, with Vizianagaram as the headquarters, second board with districts like East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna, with Kakinada as the headquarters. Similarly, a board with Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts, headquartered at Guntur. The fourth board comprises of Chittoor, Kurnool and Anantapur districts with Kadapa as headquarters.<\/p>\n
The government should have formed the original boards by this time but it has been kept aside because of the delimitation of the districts going on in the state. The boards will be formed only after the formation of new districts. The leaders who had expected the posts after the YSRCP came into power are now confused over the delay.<\/p>\n
