AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy achieved what he had envisioned. Jagan after having come to power tried his best to bring in senior IAS officer Srilakshmi, who had been beneficial during the reign of his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The Centre had not heeded to the efforts of Jagan for about a year and a half. However, the Narendra Modi government at the Centre finally agreed to transfer her to AP cadre as Jagan continued his efforts for Srilakshmi for a long time. With this, immediately after getting the permission, Srilakshmi was relieved by the Telangana government without any delay. She joined the AP cadre and reported to the AP GAD immediately.<\/p>\n
She was arrested along with other officials for illegally allocating Obulapuram Mines against the rules to former Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, who is known to be close to the YS family. After the death of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Srilakshmi who served as the Secretary of mines had faced inquiry along with Director of mines VD Rajagopal. She became seriously ill while in jail and was released on bail. Everyone was upset after seeing her in a wheelchair.<\/p>\n
Even though cases are still pending, the Telangana government lifted the suspension on Srilakshmi and gave her an insignificant post.<\/p>\n
So far so good. With the victory of the YSRCP in AP in the previous elections, the hopes of Srilakshmi sprouted again with Jagan becoming the CM. Before Jagan could sit in the CM’s chair, she was seen at Jagan’s house. She asked Jagan to persuade the Centre to include her in the AP cadre. Why would Jagan, who came to power, say no to the official like Srilakshmi, who benefited him much during his father’s reign? Jagan, who landed in Delhi immediately made sure, she comes to AP.<\/p>\n
However, the Centre said that it was not possible to transfer Srilakshmi, a senior IAS officer in the Telangana cadre, to the AP cadre. However, both Jagan and Srilakshmi continued to knock on the doors of the Centre. It is interesting to note that she remained in Delhi as if she would come only after her transfer to AP.<\/p>\n
The Centre then issued orders transferring Srilakshmi from Telangana cadre to AP, triggering speculations that the AP government was moving as per their directions. Srilakshmi, who was waiting for these orders, immediately handed over a relieving letter to the Telangana cadre and rushed to AP. She reported to the GAD after her arrival in Amaravati on Friday.
