Thalapathy Vijay\u2019s Master<\/em> is the most awaited Sankranthi film in the whole of South India. As it hit the screens today, let\u2019s see whether director Lokesh Kanagaraj managed to repeat his Khaidi<\/em> magic with Master<\/em> or not.<\/p>\n

Plot<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

JD(Vijay) is an alcoholic professor who is not on the best of terms with the college management. He gets suspended from the job and is sent to a correctional facility to deal with the young offenders. JD comes to know about the shady activities that are happening in the centre under the management of a criminal named Bhavani(Vijay Sethupathi). The rest of the proceedings showcases JD\u2019s action plan to defeat Bhavani and make the youth follow the right path.<\/p>\n

Analysis<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

If you come to the theatres expecting a Khaidi<\/em> again, Master<\/em> will utterly disappoint you. Except for infusing cinematic build-ups for Vijay and Vijay Setupathi\u2019s characters, there is nothing to laud in this film. The screenplay is not gripping and the confrontation of hero and villain only happens in the last scenes.<\/p>\n

While Vijay is looking refreshingly handsome, Vijay Sethupathi is strikingly menacing. Malavika Mohanan and Andrea Jeremiah got nothing to do except for flaunting their wardrobe. The climax action scene is conceived top-notch and the interval bang is okay. Vijay Sethupathi\u2019s role has a slighter edge over Vijay\u2019s role when it comes to screen presence.<\/p>\n

Highlights<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Anirudh Ravichander\u2019s songs and background score are the major highlights of the film apart from the train fight and interval bang. Vijay Sethupathi steals the show with aplomb.<\/p>\n
