He was admitted into Care Hospital, Banjara Hills due to heart stroke on Sunday. Raju made memorable films like <em>Simhadri, Annamayya, President Gari Pellam, Seetharamayya Gari Manavaralu,<\/em> and <em>Kirai Dada.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Doraswamy Raju headed VMC Productions, VMC Pictures, VMC Films, VMC 1 Company, and VMC Picture Palace. He served as TTD Board Member, Film Chamber President, Distributors Council Chairman, and Exhibitors Association President.<\/p>\n<p>Raju was elected as an MLA for the Nagari constituency in 1994. He started his distribution career in 1978 and went on to distribute more than 750 films in Rayalaseema. Kirai Dada with Nagarjuna was his debut film as a producer.
