TPCC working president Revanth Reddy has taken up a day-long protest in support of turmeric farmers and the peasants too attended in large numbers. He targeted the BJP and its MP Dharmapuri Arvind.<\/p>\n
In 2014, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of KCR, won the election by promising to open the Nizam Sugar Factory (Bodhan). In 2019 elections she lost. It is said that the Turmeric Board has affected her chances. As part of the protest, 178 farmers had filed nomination papers. There were a total of 185 candidates in the fray and there were many reasons for these many nominations. The defeat of CM\u2019s daughter had become a sensation then. There are chances of Kavitha getting sympathy with the protest of Turmeric farmers.<\/p>\n
The TRS has been targeting that BJP MP Arvind for failing to keep his promise made to the turmeric Board. The TRS leaders have started a campaign that Kavitha would have strived for the board. There is a talk going on that after the Delhi tour of KCR, the party has stopped its aggressive stand on BJP. Though there was a craze for Arvind for his comments now there is a risk of negative impact. The Congress succeeded in agitation but the TRS has propagated in social media to make things in favour of Kavitha.<\/p>\n
Arvind in the 2019 elections gave in a bond paper that he would bring Turmeric Board. This has left an impact in the constituency. After BJP came into power, the regional office was set up. The Centre took a decision to convert the Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad spices board division office as a regional board. Arvind and BJP leaders have been saying that there will be more benefits with this office as it was bigger than the Turmeric Board.<\/p>\n
Opposition parties have questioning that the Centre had set up regional offices in Guntur, Warangal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Sikkim, Guwahati, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, with 16 zonal and 13 marketing offices, especially for the benefit of Turmeric farmers and what is the benefit the farmers would get? Some farmers’ unions and rival parties have criticized Dharmapuri Arvind, failing to bring the Turmeric Board.
