CM Jaganmohan Reddy has given a target to all ministers to ensure the victory of the candidates backed by them in 90 percent of the Panchayats or face the axe. This has made the ministers a worried lot because already their post is for two and a half years, and their tenure will be renewed based on their performance.<\/p>\n
During the elections in Telangana in the YS regime, there were ZPTC elections and after the defeat of the party the posts of Malinti Mareppa, Maganti Babu was removed from the post. It appears that this scene is going to get repeated. The worried ministers are focusing on the Panchayat elections leaving all other works.<\/p>\n
When the elections were held in early 2020, they could get 24 percent seats unanimous. The situation has now become upside down. The EC said that it would cancel the election if there are more unanimous elections. With this, tension has gripped the YSRCP leaders. The election result is likely to have an impact on the next Assembly elections. The expectations of Jagan did not fulfill because many nominations were filed in first and second phase polls. As per the information, not even 3 percent are unanimous and there is no other way than to face the election.<\/p>\n
Apart from the ministers, the MLAs have also been given targets and they should win 90 percent villages in their constituencies. Indications have been given to the leaders that if the results are adverse, they may not get tickets in the next elections. It is learnt that the MLAs who could not succeed in making unanimous were getting ready for the distribution of money and liquor.<\/p>\n
The YSRCP leaders are taking all-out efforts to make sure they win 90 per cent seats. They try for unanimous support and if there are more nominations, they would threaten TDP supported candidates targeting their business. Even if this fails, they would try to win by distributing money and liquor.
