Are regional parties and Left parties coming together to form an alliance at national level to fight the BJP? The answer is positive, if the comments by CPI senior leader K Narayana are of any indication. Narayana while speaking to the media in Hyderabad recently stressed the need for emergence of an alternative at national level to face the BJP and added that the CPI was ready to follow Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao if he takes up the responsibility of building this alternative alliance.<\/p>\n
His comments come in the wake of reports that KCR has once again set his eyes on national politics and is going to announce a national political party. Though he denied the reports, it is believed that he is seriously considering uniting anti-BJP and Anti-Congress parties at national level.<\/p>\n
Centre\u2019s policies<\/strong><\/p>\n Opposition parties are angry at some of the Centre\u2019s policies. They think the BJP government is anti-farmer and anti-worker. The Left parties are strongly opposing the BSNL privatization and disinvestment of LIC. On the other hand, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, TS Chief Minister KCR and Congress CMs are openly accusing the Centre of discriminating against non-BJP states.<\/p>\n The opposition feels the need to start efforts to build an alliance from now itself to counter the BJP in 2024. Narayana\u2019s comments reflect this desire among the opposition parties.<\/p>\n Will TDP join?<\/strong><\/p>\n The question is, will TDP join the alliance which targets BJP? TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and KCR do not see eye to eye. It is said Naidu does not consider KCR, who was his disciple and a minister in his Cabinet, as an equal. So, doubts are being expressed on whether he will work under the aegis of KCR.<\/p>\n Similarly, there is little chance of AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy joining this alliance, as he is openly supporting the BJP at the Centre.\u00a0 KCR will not allow Congress into the alliance, as it is his political rival in the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Are regional parties and Left parties coming together to form an alliance at national level to fight the BJP?
