AP High Court has made serious comments on the police department of the state. It asked DGP Gautam Sawang whether the \u2018Rule of Law\u2019 is being implemented in the state or not. It even suggested the DGP to resign if he thinks that he cannot control the department. From the moment, YS Jagan took oath as Chief Minister, YSRCP Government is initiating police action on opposition, media and people who question its irregularities. The apex court has summoned Gautam Sawang several times in cases like these in the past.<\/p>\n
A habeas corpus petition was filed in the apex court over the missing case of Venkata Raju, a resident of Indupalli, Amalapurammandal of East Godavari district, by his maternal uncle. High court has unleashed its wrath after listening to the proceedings in this case by asking \u201cIs there Rule of Law in the state?\u201d It even commented that the previous three enquiries proved the guilt of Police in this issue.<\/p>\n
Gautam Sawang replied that he will initiate action against the Police officials who acted against the law and assured that these kinds of incidents will never occur again.The apex court also raised the issue of enforcing 144 section in 29 villages to suppress the Amaravati agitation. It said using Police force to threaten people is in contravention of the law. It became serious on conducting long-march with 500 members of battalion in Amaravati villages. \u2018Are we living in the border?\u2019, asked the bench to which DGP replied that he will make sure not to repeat this kind of incidents.<\/p>\n
National Commission for Women called DGP Gautam Sawang for an explanation regarding the incident in which some Police officers hit women protesters with their boot-clad legs in Amaravati.
