Political parties consider the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections as mini Telangana elections. The atmosphere in the Greater election is similar to that of the Assembly elections. All the major political parties are vying for the mayoral post in the elections which may be held in November or December. Elections will be held for 150 divisions in the GHMC, with the TRS having 99 seats, and MIM having 44.<\/p>\n
TRS is targeting 100 seats this time and is making strategies in this direction. It is learnt that the pink party leadership has entrusted the responsibility to the city ministers. Strategies regarding the same are being implemented. Right from announcement of the candidate to introducing the victor in Telangana Bhavan, the city ministers have their task cut out.<\/p>\n
The four ministers<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n There are four ministers representing Greater Hyderabad. Home Minister Md Mahmood Ali, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy. It is learnt that KTR has entrusted the responsibility of Greater on these four ministers. These elections will be a litmus test for these ministers.<\/p>\n Multi cornered fight inevitable<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The party wants to score a century out of the 150 divisions in Greater elections. For this purpose, the party has given responsibilities to ministers and some important leaders. Earlier, because of the Pink wave, TRS won in 99 divisions including the post of mayor. But during that time the party had a favourable atmosphere, but now the situation has changed. The BJP is emerging as a strong force in Greater. Opposition parties have been alleging that the promises made in the last elections were not fulfilled. Apart from this, there is a feeling among the people that the TRS is adopting anti-people policies.<\/p>\n This time around, there will be an interesting fight in Greater elections. Though the survey results are in favour of the ruling party, they are not taking any chances. The ministers have been given the responsibility to select the candidates with a good track record, strengths of the parties in divisions etc. With this, the ministers are busy in the preparations for the election test.<\/p>\n In KTR\u2019s direction<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Despite handing out the responsibility to ministers, KTR continues to give directions when needed. The TRS working president is giving suggestions on what needs to be done at what time and what strategies needs to be adopted by conducting regular review meetings with the ministers, leaders and corporators in order to create a positive atmosphere in Greater elections.
