The AP High court has taken a sensational decision by directing the CBI to investigate the social media postings case and asking them to submit a report within two months. The High Court also directed the state government to fully cooperate with the CBI in the investigation. Few leaders had made insulting comments on the judiciary and judges on social media. The court has taken the alleged derogatory comments very seriously.<\/p>\n
The court questioned the police as to why cases were not booked against those individuals who insult the judiciary and judges, when action is taken against those making remarks against the state government. The High Court pulled up the police for its failure despite the court registrar having lodged a formal complaint, and lashed out at those who did not like the High Court judgments saying they can approach the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
Cannot make derogatory posts against judiciary<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Two month ago, few leaders and social media activists belonging to the ruling party had made derogatory posts against the judiciary and judges in social media. The High Court having taken cognisance made a serious note of it and questioned the state government for its failure to arrest those responsible for the posts. Last week, the court questioned the AG as to why the case should not be transferred to the CBI. Finally, the Court which heard the case today, ordered a CBI probe.<\/p>\n YSRCP heads had lashed out at the judiciary<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Speaker Tammineni Sitaram, MP Vijay Sai Reddy, Chirala leader Krishnamohan and other YSRCP activists had put up derogatory posts finding fault against the AP High Court judgments. The political criticism of the judiciary and judges sparked outrage at that time. The court was approached with clippings of derogatory postings on social media and in response the state government was asked to initiate necessary action against those who made such statements.
