Indian film industry has witnessed movies with single character in the past. There are movies that were shot in a single day too. But for the first time in India, young hero Tanish is acting in a movie which constitutes a single shot. It is named as ‘Mahaprasthanam’ and debutant director Johnny is helming the megaphone for this thriller. But experiments like these need actors who can generate huge interest among crowds. We have to wait and see whether Tanish who is not in the best of form lately can pull this feat or not.
Tanish had acted in number of movies as a child actor and became hero with Ravi Babu’s ‘Nachavule’. He went on to star in hits like ‘Ride’ and ‘Memu Vayasuku Vacham’ in his career. Apart from these movies, he doesn’t have any films that secured his place in the industry. He even tried his luck with a negative role in Krishna Vamsi’s ‘Nakhstram’ which flopped miserably at box office. Tanish participated in Bigg Boss-2 but was eliminated from the house midway.
His previous outing ‘Rangu’ failed to generate any buzz and sources say this made Tanish to select this experimental film. He has pinned lot of hopes on ‘Mahaprasthanam’ and the film’s team released the teaser on 7th of September which is Tanish’s birthday. Teaser is interesting and shows its crime thriller premise but people are skeptical whether it can retain the audience’s interest with a single shot.
Vishwak Sen did this single shot experiment in the climax scene of ‘Falaknuma Das’ which runs for twenty minutes. This idea was lifted from its original version ‘Angamaly Diaries’. Let’s see whether this single shot experimental film brings back the lost glory for Tanish or not.
