AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy’s claims made during the election campaign regarding corruption-free government remain far from reality. A YCP MLA, who assumed power after nine years of struggle has begun looting in his constituency. Even the recently launched YSR Aasara scheme has been targeted by the corrupt.
Under this scheme, beneficiaries would get Rs 18,000 per annum. The first instalment was deposited in the bank account of the beneficiary. It is learnt that the followers of YCP MLA, whose house is within walking distance of CM’s residence in Tadepalli, were immediately brought into the field.
Volunteers as agents
The YCP MLA asked his followers to collect Rs 5000 from the beneficiaries of YSR Aasara scheme. They are taking utmost care to ensure that the MLA’s name does not come out, as the latter is about to get a minister post in the cabinet reshuffle.
Hence, second-rung leaders were brought into the field to ensure that the MLA’s name isn’t vilified. It is learnt that the volunteers in the wards were asked to collect and handover Rs 5000 from the beneficiaries of YSR Aasara. They are warned that their volunteer job would be removed if they don’t get the money.
What is this Karakatta Kamal Hasan?
The MLA popularly known as Karakatta Kamal Hasan talks about honesty and sincerity. But he does not stop collecting money from the beneficiaries in every scheme in his constituency. The locals are vexed with the attitude of the MLA, who talks about morals for namesake. The people in the constituency want someone to bring this to the notice of the chief minister.
Volunteers can’t swallow or digest
The situation of the volunteers in the constituency is such that they cannot swallow or digest. The ruling party MLA is going to be a minister and if they don’t listen to him, they may lose their jobs hence they are continuing. It is learnt that the people who are having other opportunities are going away by stating that they don’t need this volunteer’s job.
As per the reports, about 200 volunteers have left their job in the constituency in the last six months. From this, the range of torture the followers were experiencing can be understood. Only God knows how there will be corruption less governance when this type of situation prevails in a constituency which is near the residence of the chief minister.
