Actress Meena re-uniting with senior heroes

Actresses have a short shelf life in the Indian film industry. Even though heroes continue to romance with young actresses till their late 60s, heroines fade away too fast. There are many such actresses in Telugu and Tamil industries who have shifted to doing mother roles lately. But Meena seems to be different from that lot as she is still pairing up with top stars of Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam industries.

Meena debuted as heroine in 1989 with ‘Navayugam’ in Tollywood. She went on to star with all the top stars in every South-Indian language. She even acted in a few Bollywood films. Even today, she is being offered female leads in south languages and is currently working with three big heroes.

Balayya-Boyapati’s combo film has resumed its shooting now. It has several titles in circulation such as ‘Danger’, ‘Monarch’ and ‘Torch Bearer’. Balakrishna is playing two powerful roles in it. Meena is selected to star opposite Balayya’s Aghora character and she is said to be in awe about this role. Boyapati has already directed two blockbusters with Balakrishna namely ‘Simha’ and ‘Legend’ in the past and fans are eagerly waiting for their hat-trick combination.

Superstar Rajinikanth is currently shooting for his upcoming film ‘Annathe’ under the direction of Siva. Industry circles say that Meena has been roped in to play a female lead alongside Khushbu and ‘Mahanati’ fame Keerthy Suresh. Rajinikanth and Meena’s previous movies had set the box office on fire. Let’s see whether their combination recreates the same magic this time or not.

We all know that Meena starred opposite Mohanlal in Malayalam version of ‘Drishyam’. She even starred opposite Venkatesh in its Telugu remake. Jeethu Joseph who directed the original has announced a sequel to this now and Meena is reprising her role as the female lead in ‘Drishyam-2’. This film is going to be launched soon. Let’s wish her best of luck for her three upcoming projects with top stars.
