Big confusion for ‘Sithara Entertainments’

Remaking a film from one language to another is not an easy task. If makers want to rope in big stars, then the task is nothing short of herculean. It needs tweaking the script to suit Telugu tastes and accommodating scenes that elevate the star’s image. Before all of that, the process of stars’ selection is the most complex one as the director and producer have to convince and make them believe in the script. One such film is Malayalam super hit ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon. Nagadevara Surya Vamsi of ‘Sitara Entertainments’ has bagged the remake rights for this film which marked the beginning of his woes.

This remake needs two star heroes to star in the powerful roles of a Police officer and an Ex-Havaldar in Indian army. The plot revolves around their ego clashes which were filmed beautifully by director Sachy who unfortunately died this year. Both Prithvi and Biju excelled in their roles and the movie went on to become a super hit in Malayalam. Naga Vamsi wanted to rope in Nandamuri Balakrishna and Rana to play the lead roles. But as Balayya was not too impressed with his character, Naga Vamsi is planning to replace him with Ravi Teja. Filmnagar circles are abuzz that Naga Vamsi has dropped the idea of casting Ravi Teja now, and instead opting for none other than Power Star Pawan Kalyan. If they stick to Rana to play the second character, Suresh Productions will get involved in the project and they will eventually ask for unending script changes which they are infamously known for. This will further complicate things for ‘Sitara Entertainments’.

Pawan Kalyan is the busiest actor in Tollywood now and his second innings is off to a terrific start. He prefers fast paced shooting and is not a great fan of constant changes in the script after the filming starts. Pawan has committed himself to four projects for now. Nobody knows when he will give his dates for this. Suresh Productions has already experienced the ‘dates’ problem with him during the filming of ‘Gopala Gopala’. Grapevine says Rana will be out of this project if Pawan agrees to take up the role. Let’s see which actor gets the lucky chance to share the screen space with Power Star.
