Can Vikram Kumar deliver a hit with Naga Chaithanya?

Star heroes like to team up with their favourite directors regardless of track records. One such director for the Akkineni family is Vikram K Kumar who is known for his smart and concept based films. His Tamil films like ‘Alai’ and ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ made Nithin to offer him ‘Ishq’. The film went on to become a major blockbuster and revived Nithin’s career.

Vikram caught the eye of Nagarjuna who was planning to make a film with actors from three generations of his family which resulted in ‘Manam’. It turned out to be a landmark film for Akkineni family as it became the last film in which ANR acted before his demise. This forged a bond between the Akkineni family and Vikram and they went on to give him a chance to direct Akhil’s ‘Hello’ even after the debacle of Suriya’s ‘24’. ‘Hello’ failed to give Akhil that much needed hit and Vikram’s recent movie with Nani ‘Gang Leader’ also failed miserably at the box office.

But these failures of Vikram could not alter Nagarjuna’s faith in him as he was again given a chance to direct Naga Chaitanya’s 20th film ‘Thank You’. It will be produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner and the team released the movie’s first look poster on Nagarjuna’s birthday recently.

The poster was designed innovatively in which Dil Raju thanked Nagarjuna for playing an important role in his 20 year journey. While Vikram Kumar thanked Nag for giving him ‘Manam’, Chaitu thanked his dad, “Thanks, for being my king” he wrote on Twitter. Makers say that they are presenting Naga Chaitanya in a truly different light and fans are wishing Vikram delivers a big hit this time with Chaitu.
