Plot
Ittymaani was born and raised in China and he migrates to India at the age of 10. He runs a catering business along with selling knockoff products. He is well over his marriage age and his line of business stands as a major drawback. Ittymaani has a habit of taking commissions and he even takes commission in his mother’s hospital fees. He takes care of his mother’s friend Annamma. Annamma’s children neglect her and they don’t visit her when she has a cardiac arrest. Ittymaani decides to teach a lesson and the rest of the plot revolves around these proceedings.
Analysis
‘Ittymaani: Made in China’ stands as a lesson to the people who go abroad for work and neglect their parents. This movie stresses on the plight of the parents whose children don’t even have time to talk to them. Director duo Jibi and Joju presented this point with a dose of humour. The film is endowed with human emotions and family sentiment. Mohanlal as ‘Ittymaani’ and Radhika Sarath Kumar as ‘Annamma’ excelled in their roles.
Highlights
Even though Tollywood movies like ‘Satamanambhavati’ and ‘Pratiroju Pandage’ have touched this point, this movie portrayed the proceedings from a different perspective. The director duo treated this subject with heavy humour content and Mohanlal’s shock treatment to Annamma’s sons is the major highlight of the film.
