Megastar Chiranjeevi’s nephew VaishnavTej has made his debut with ‘Uppena’. It is directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by ‘Mythri Movie Makers’ and ‘Sukumar Writings’ jointly. While Krithi Shetty is playing the female lead in it, ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi is essaying an important role. Though the film has completed its shooting, its release got postponed due to the lockdown. The songs in the film has been warmly received by the audience.
Even though various OTT platforms have approached the producers offering fancy rates, the makers haven’t sold its rights to them. Sources say the reason behind not releasing it on OTT is none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi. Chiru reportedly took this decision as ‘Uppena’ is VaishnavTej’s first film and it would not bode well for the latter’s career if his first film releases on OTT platform. As theatres are opening from October 15th, let’s wait and see when the makers are going to release ‘Uppena’. VaishnavTej had already acted in movies like ‘Shankar Dada MBBS’ and ‘Andarivadu’ as a child actor.
