Nagina is a super hit Bollywood film that portrayed Sridevi in a shape-shifting divine snake. It was released in 1986 and we cannot forget her vengeance-filled performance till today. Even though Rishi Kapoor is named as protagonist in the title cards, Sridevi shouldered the entire weight of the film.
A sequel named Nigahen appeared in 1989 starring Sunny Deol and Sridevi reprising her role. It became a flop and Nagina’s role is being revived in Bollywood after three decades. Saaho actress Shraddha Kapoor has been chosen to play the role played by the legendary beauty Sridevi and the former tweeted about it on Wednesday.
This Naagin film is directed by Vishal Furia and bankrolled by Nikhil Dwivedi under Saffron Broadcast & Media. Makers are constructing a huge set for the film and the pre-production work is currently going on for this highly anticipated film. We have to wait and see how Shraddha Kapoor fits into the shoes of Sridevi.
