‘Maryada Ramanna’ fame comedian Kosuri Venugopal passed away on Wednesday in Hyderabad. He was being treated for pneumonia at a private hospital and was on life-support for the last 23 days. He is known for his witty characters in Rajamouli’s films.
Venugopal hails from Narasapuram in West Godavari district. He worked as a manager in FCI and started playing minor roles in films because of his passion for acting. Post retirement, he became a fulltime actor. We cannot forget his comic expressions in the role of Brahmaji’s father in ‘Maryada Ramanna’. His performances in ‘Vikramarkudu’ and ‘Chalo’ were also well received by the audiences.
His poker-faced funny facial expressions and ease of dialogue delivery made him popular in TFI. Though his job never let him accept more films, his performances in the 30 movies he featured will be remembered for long.
Rajamouli and Vijayendra Prasad have expressed their condolences.
