Renowned Kuchipudi dancer Shobha Naidu passes away

Eminent Kuchipudi dancer Shobha Naidu passed away in the wee hours of Wednesday in Hyderabad. She was undergoing treatment for her head injury at a private hospital for some time. Shobha Naidu was also diagnosed with COVID-19 which made her condition worse.

She was born in 1962 in Anakapalli of Visakhapatnam district. Shobha Naidu was trained by Sri Vempati Chinna Satyam and went on to become a renowned dancer who toured the globe and spread the art. She was awarded Padma Shri in 2001. She was known for her performances as Padmavathi and Chandalika.
