Pamula Pushpa Sreevani, the current deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh and MLA from Kurupam, Vizianagaram district is in trouble as the controversy surrounding her caste has again come to the fore. An AP High Court bench has ordered the PO of ITDA, KR Puram, West Godavari to investigate and submit a report in four weeks regarding the dispute over the genuineness of the caste certificate of Pushpa Sreevani.
Pamula Pushpa Sreevani is not a Scheduled Tribe
Regu Maheswara Rao, a legal advisor for the employees belonging to the ST communities in the three districts of North Coastal AP have filed a petition in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on November 23, alleging that the AP Deputy CM does not belong to the Scheduled Tribe. Recently, the High Court has also issued orders to this effect. Earlier, a complaint was also filed on 09th September 2019, over the issue to the West Godavari District Collector. A comprehensive investigation had been ordered by the District Collector seeking a report from the PO of ITDA, KR Puram. However, since there wasn’t a proper response from the PO, they approached the High Court, the legal advisor Regu Maheswara Rao said while addressing a press conference on the same.
There isn’t a Hindu Social Class
Maheswara Rao made it clear that the Hindu Social Class doesn’t exist as mentioned in the documents of AP Deputy CM Pushpa Sreevani’s antecedents, adding that it was on this basis that Pushpa Sreevani’s younger sister was denied a government job. Sreevani’s father and grandfather had migrated from Palakonda in Srikakulam District to West Godavari, and the officials without having conducted a detailed enquiry had issued the caste certificates. Now, the ST Communities legal advisor have approached the AP High Court demanding a detailed enquiry into the issue.
