The comments made by senior YSRCP leader in Nellore district and Venkatagiri MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy have created ripples. He took part in the memorial meeting organized on the occasion of the 70th Jayanti of his brother Anam Vivekananda Reddy. He recalled his brother’s association with Nellore district. Also, his serious remarks have led to speculation as to whether the Anam family would pave the way for political strategy in the coming future. He said that there were no permanent friends and enemies in politics and some were saying that Anam family was getting away from Nellore politics and also said that he would show his mark. He said that no matter how much the political leaders do for Nellore, they cannot erase the mark of Anam family on Nellore. These comments may appear normal but if the groupism in the district politics are considered these would become a topic of discussion.

Known for making sensational comments
He made sensational comments earlier too after the YSRCP had assumed power in the state. He alleged that works were not going on in his constituency. Officials should know that there is a constituency called Venkatagiri. He said he would see for one year and if the situation does not change, he would take up a movement. He further alleged that the water resources department officials were selling water and demanded inquiry on this. Though CM Jagan directed the officials to take up YS Canal works, the officials were not listening, sand and cricket betting are rampant in the district. Earlier, the YSRCP gave him show-cause notice on these comments. There is a talk that he was upset that he was given a show-cause notice without considering his seniority. His juniors Anil Kumar and Kotam Reddy were showing supremacy in the district and they were doing anti-Anam politics in the district hence such comments have come from him. Though everyone was silent back then, the latest comments led to a discussion within the party. In Nellore, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Kakani Govardhan Reddy are one group and Minister Anil and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy is another.
The Anam family used to have a grip on VR Educational institutions, a key institution in the district. However, cases were registered against the institution with alleging of misappropriations and the matter is still sub-judice. The Anam family believe that Anil and Kotamreddy were deliberately conspiring to take the institution away from them. Apart from this, the issues of trust board of Venugopala Swamy temple, temple lands, reverse tending in the Eluru reservoir which was taken up with Rs 240 Crore have made Anam unhappy. These comments indicate the changing political equations in the districts.
