The political battle between various political parties in the wake of the GHMC elections has intensified with strong allegations being hurled against each other. Mainly, the BJP and the ruling TRS have entangled in a bitter exchange of words. The BJP is trying its best to lure voters and has roped in National Leaders to campaign on behalf of their candidates in a bid to win the GHMC elections. Tejasvi Surya, BJYM President and MP had attended a campaign held at Secunderabad wherein he targeted AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi. Today, BJP leaders Muralidhar Rao and MoS Kishan Reddy will be holding roadshows. In this context, TRS’ Working President KTR lashed out at BJP leaders saying that they know only to speak but do nothing and that they lack substance.
KTR strongly criticized the BJP of resorting to divisive politics and even accused the saffron party of ruling the nation using caste and religion cards. He went on to say that the BJP did nothing for Telangana and for both the Telugu states. KTR declared that they would lavish praises on PM Modi if the latter would declare a package worth one lakh crores for Telangana. Speaking about Amaravati, KTR said that the BJP gave only mud and water, nothing else.
Meanwhile, the BJP leaders expressed their anger over KTR’s comments. They questioned that if four BJP MPs from Telangana get one lakh crore package, how many lakh crores package would the TRS with nine MPs announce. On the other hand, BJP’s Kishan Reddy made interesting comments on the elections manifesto released by the TRS government. The MoS for Home Affairs stated that TRS’ manifesto is not at all practical in nature. However, it can be said that the GHMC elections will be a close fight between the BJP and the ruling TRS, similar to that witnessed in Dubbaka.
