Rajamouli’s Baahubali paved the way for the filmmakers who want to dream big. Every regional film industry is now aiming at the Pan-Indian genre and one such film is Ponniyin Selvan directed by Mani Ratnam. This historical drama has Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Amitabh Bachchan playing the leading roles while Aishwarya Rai is essaying the antagonist.
Mani finished 90 days of shoot in Thailand before the pandemic stalled the world. The team is currently filming in Ramoji Film City and versatile artiste Prakash Raj has joined the sets. Prakash announced his elation about working with Mani on his microblogging site recently. Ponniyin Selvan is based on a fictional novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy.
