A former soldier from Chowdhupally village in Achuthapuram zone of Visakhapatnam district brought his one-year-old child to KGH in an ambulance. The child became serious with a corona infection. The child was treated locally. As the child’s health became serious, the ex-soldier put the child in an ambulance and came to the KGH for better treatment. However, with no vacant beds, the child passed away in the ambulance itself.
The CM’s statement that there is no shortage of beds for corona patients is not to be seen at the field level. Corona patients and their families are struggling to find beds outside hospitals for hours. Not only in Visakhapatnam but also in Vijayawada, Guntur, and Nellore, the loss of corona patients outside hospitals is a reflection of the government’s negligence.
