Some friendships turn into kinships that last forever. People in such harmonious friendship are lucky as they experience the true spirit of togetherness and camaraderie. Not many know that legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam shares a special bond with ‘Eenadu Group’ chairman Ramoji Rao. ‘ETV’ was started on 27th of August in 1995. Ramoji planned to do a program with Balu and instructed his team to devise plans. All the efforts resulted in ‘Paaduta Teeyaga’ which became the greatest singing show in Telugu television history. It was first aired on 12th January of 1996 and went on uninterrupted for 1100 episodes spanning decades. This reality singing show is the result of visionary prowess of Ramoji Rao coupled with the dedication of SPB to unearth emerging talents. Many novices who participated in ‘Paaduta Teeyaga’ went on to become well-known singers.
This professional relationship between Ramoji Rao and Balu later turned into friendship and they remained constantly in touch with each other. Ramoji Rao expressed his shock and sorrow regarding SPB’s death and said that “he lost a dear brother.” Through a heart touching video, Ramoji Rao conveyed his condolences to Balu’s family.
