Pelli Choopulu became a landmark film that guaranteed berths to its protagonist Vijay Deverakonda, leading lady Ritu Varma and director Tharun Bhascker in Tollywood. Ritu went on to star in Keshava with Nikhil which remained a dud at the box office.
This made Ritu turn her attention towards Kollywood. Her two Tamil films Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 and Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal became successes which made Ritu the desired commodity once again in Tollywood.
She is currently acting with Nani in Tuck Jagadish under the direction of Shiva Nirvana. It is going to be released in the first half of this year. Apart from it, Ritu has finished her portions in an untitled film opposite Sharwanand directed by Shree Karthik.
Krishna Vamsi’s assistant Lakshmi Sowjanya roped in Ritu for her debut film Varudu Kavalenu starring Naga Shaurya. Her big-budget thriller to date named Dhruva Natchatiram directed by Gautham Menon is also gearing up for release.
So 2021 is going to change the fortunes for Ritu Varma and TLN wishes her all the very best.
