Break for Lotus’ bloom…What does the voter survey reveal?

Several polls have already revealed that the BJP will have mixed results in the upcoming elections to be held in four Indian states and one UT. In this context, the mood of the public has been gauged by a survey held by Times Now in association with C-Voter. Through the survey, it has been clear that Mamata Banerjee might be back as the CM in West Bengal, while the Left alliance government will be formed in Kerala. In both places, there is full support for the non-BJP parties and a coalition government is expected to continue. However, in the case of Tamil Nadu Stalin might have a chance. In the case of Assam, BJP will form the government again, and in Puducherry, there are chances for a new BJP government to assume power. According to the survey, the BJP will regain power in the current state of Assam, while in Puducherry, which has 30 seats will come to power. At the same time, the BJP alliance in Tamil Nadu, which has 234 seats is losing power.

Didi to continue in power

At present, the battle between the All-India Trinamool Congress and the BJP is at its peaks in West Bengal, with political differences having reached the level of personal differences. There are also chances for this fight to turn into a bitter feud. In West Bengal, which has 294 seats, the Trinamool Congress is projected to win between 152 and 168 seats, while the BJP is projected to win between 104 and 120 seats. The survey also revealed that the Left-Congress-ISF alliance would be limited to 18-26 seats. At the same time, the BJP alone will get 37 per cent more votes, while the difference between the TMC and the BJP in terms of vote share would be 2.8 per cent. On the other hand, it is a known fact that the BJP had to suffice itself having won just three seats in the 2016 Assembly elections. When the question regarding the CM candidate arose, Mamata Banerjee had won the highest number of votes. Around, 54.9 % of the people voted for Mamata Banerjee while 32.3 per cent voted for the BJP leader Dilip Ghosh. Also, Mukul Roy got only 6.5 per cent of the vote, while only 1.3 per cent supported Suvendu Adhikari, who left the TMC and joined the BJP. In other words, when it comes to the CM candidate Mamata Banerjee undoubtedly has the upper hand.

DMK in Tamil Nadu

The survey states that the BJP-AIADMK alliance, which is currently in power in Tamil Nadu, will have to lose power. The survey found that the DMK-Congress alliance would get 173-181 seats out of a total of 234 assembly seats, winning more seats than any other party. Meanwhile, the BJP and its allies are projected to get 45-53, the MNM 1-5 and the others 0-4. It is against this background that the people here are going to rally behind Stalin. The survey found that 43 per cent are in support of Stalin.

Lotus to bloom again in Assam

Assam is the only state where the BJP will return to power with more than 100 seats. The survey found that the BJP – led NDA alliance would get 65-73 seats out of 126 seats, while the Congress-AIUDF ‘Mahajoth’ (grand alliance) would get 52-60 seats and the others 0-4 seats. Turns out that there would be a nail-biting contest here, but the BJP alliance would win with a small majority. The BJP is likely to come to power with 45 per cent of the vote, while Congress is projected to win 41.1 per cent of the vote, with a difference of only 4.9 per cent.

Left parties in Kerala

In Kerala, which has 140 assembly seats, the survey concludes that the Left Alliance will again be in power. Here the Left Alliance Left Democratic Front LDF came in with 77 seats. The survey found that the Congress-led UDF would get 62 seats and the Left Alliance would retain power. However, several scandals, including the Gold Scam, have swept the coalition.

Puducherry

In Puducherry, the government recently formed by the Congress alliance collapsed. The Congress alleges that the BJP has strategically toppled the government here, despite elections in two months. However, the survey found that voters here will cling to the BJP alliance in the upcoming elections. According to the survey, the NDA will win 19 to 23 seats out of a total of 30, while the Congress-DMK alliance will be limited to 7-11 seats this time.

Finally, what does the survey signify?

The People’s Survey said the BJP would win 183 seats in West Bengal and that Mamata Banerjee would be limited to 95 seats.
