The Central Government has issued orders making it mandatory for everyone to wear a mask in public places, work areas, and on public trips. Those who do not wear the mask will be fined Rs.1000. Has the power to impose a prison sentence of six months. The government has also banned the public celebration of Holi. It imposed sanctions from Holi until Ramadan on April 30.
The orders were issued by the Chief Secretary to the Government Somesh Kumar with the guidelines of the Central Government. It was clarified that there would be restrictions on people gathering in groups in the same place. District Collectors, SPs and Commissioners of Police have been directed to issue notifications within their jurisdiction on these restrictions. They were instructed to see to it that the regulations were enforced strictly with immediate effect.
