The Central Election Commission (CEC) has given a shock to the YCP government over the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election. Issued two key directives. The action has already begun as these orders have already reached the collectors. It seems that these two issues are due to the complaints made by the TDP leaders. It is known that the TDP is demanding that the volunteers be kept away from the polls, that the polls be held with the central forces, that they are given a chance to vote if they show any two identity cards, and that the stone-throwing incident during Chandrababu rally in Tirupati be investigated.

To keep volunteers away in elections

The TDP has been demanding from the outset to keep the volunteers away in the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-elections. Despite the demand in the panchayat and municipal elections that have taken place in the past, volunteers have not been excluded at full scale. With this, the TDP complained directly to the Central Electoral Commission in the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election. The party MPs Galla Jayadev, Rammohan Naidu, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar and others wrote letters to the Central Election Commission. Election Commission Secretary Avinash Kumar responded to the letters. He said orders have been issued to keep the volunteers away from the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-elections. Volunteers were instructed not to interfere in election duties and not to be agents. The response was that the highest percentage of sensitive, problematic polling stations would be patrolled by the Central Armed Forces.

The TDP says that the stones were thrown during Chandrababu’s speech last Monday. Chandrababu Naidu also displayed the stone which was thrown by miscreants. However, the ruling YSRCP has come under fire saying that no stones were thrown. Home Minister Sucharita and the Tirupati Range DIG also said there were no stones thrown. Notices were also issued to give immediate evidence at TDP. TDP MPs and leaders have written to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) seeking an inquiry into the matter. Responding to this, the Election Commission said that an FIR has been registered by the police in connection with the incident and an investigation is underway. It has already revealed that directions have been issued to the district election officers and SPs. Webcasting will take place at 1241 polling stations for a total of 2470 polling stations, with 315 videographers and 816 micro-observers recruited.

Meanwhile, the TDP and BJP have already accused the YCP of forging 2.5 lakh voter cards in the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-elections. They have also complained to the Central Electoral Commission on the matter. However, the Election Commission has yet to respond. If this complaint is taken into consideration … Voters may be ordered to vote if they show any two identity cards.

Actions against ten volunteers

Tirupati Collector Harinarayanan said that the volunteers in the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election were kept away from election duties as per the directions from the Central Election Commission. On Thursday, he told the media that volunteers should not even act as agents in elections and that action would be taken against volunteers involved in election duties. We have already taken action against 10 volunteers across the Chittoor district.
