The details regarding Extraterrestrial life has always been put under wraps. However, recent developments in this regard may bring clarity. Scientists have announced having detected signals from an exoplanet.
A British news and media website The Guardian revealed that scientists detected a faint signal with the help of LOFAR (Low-Frequency Array) a large radio telescope network based in the Netherlands. It is known that extensive research is being carried out to understand about deep space and regarding the presence of life on other planets. Recently, they identified a signal that has been emitted from an exoplanet believed to be 51 light-years away. For those unversed, exoplanet or extrasolar planet is that which is located outside the Solar System.
Scientists also state that it is the first time a radio signal from an exoplanet has been intercepted on Earth. In addition, there were signals also from constellation Cancer (one of the twelve constellations of the zodiac and is located in the Northern celestial hemisphere) and Upsilon Andromedae (a binary star which is 44 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Andromeda) systems. It is learnt that this planet is similar to Earth and that possible alien life does exist. However, soon more details regarding this discovery can be expected.
Proxima Centauri is a star which is located 4.2465 light-years far from Earth and the nearest known star to the Sun. Robert T A Innes was the first astronomer to have discovered the star in 1915. Now, scientists state that the radio beams received indicate that the exoplanet is in a habitable zone of the red dwarf star Proxima Centauri. Also, these aliens if they do exist, maybe brilliant than humans as they possess Extraterrestrial Intelligence (ETI), which is also known as Techno signature. According to Andrew Patrick Vincent Siemion, an Astrophysicist and Director of the Berkeley SETI Research Center, these radio signals received were very strong in nature.
The radio signals are so strong that it could influence spaceships and satellites made by humans. In fact, this signal was intercepted by Siemion as part of the 100 million ‘Breakthrough Listen’ project funded by Yuri Milner, an Israeli-Russian entrepreneur. The project which was founded in 2015 has been scanning for Extraterrestrial life and hence been named SETI (Search for extraterrestrial intelligence).
In 2016 the exoplanet which was discovered has been called Proxima b or Alpha Centauri Cb. It is 1.2 times bigger than Earth and will be in orbit for a span of 11 times, and has been found habitable for humans with the presence of water. On the other hand, in January 2020 another exoplanet Proxima Centauri c or Alpha Centauri Cc was discovered which has a mass 7 times massive than Earth, orbiting every 5.28 years.
Biggest telescope built for alien exploration
In a bid to explore more information about the existence of aliens, China built the biggest radio telescope titled FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope) located in Dawodang depression, in Pingtang County, Guizhou, southwest China. The giant structure is touted to be the biggest spanning 500 football fields and has been operational since 2016.
What about the Monoliths?
There are many mysterious things happening on Earth that we do not know because several monoliths have been spotted appearing at various locations. Interestingly, no one knows why and how these mysterious monoliths are popping up and what exactly are they useful for? Several arguments point out that aliens are behind these monoliths’ appearance. The first such triangular pillar-like structure was discovered in US’ Red Rock Desert area by a Wild Life Resource official.
The presence of a heavy pillar-like structure in a deserted area shocked the US officials. Later, similar monoliths were spotted in California, US and in Romania, a nation in the Balkans. Recently, on December 6th these structures were also seen in England’s Isle of Wight and in Finland.
