The Andhra Pradesh Police on Thursday, stopped the convoy of TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu when he was on his way to attend the Amaravati JAC’s Jana Ranabheri public rally, having visited the foundation stone area. Earlier, AP TDP Chief Atchannaidu Kinjarapu lambasted the police for having obstructed the convoy despite having taken prior permission for the event. This led to a heated altercation between the police and the TDP leaders. However, only the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was allowed by police to visit the Amaravati foundation stone spot by walk. The TDP supremo having offered prayers even prostrated at the site where the soil was taken from 171 holy temples as a mark of respect.

Later, Chandrababu Naidu along with few leaders arrived for the Jana Ranabheri being held in support of the farmer’s support. Heightened tension prevailed when police stopped Chandrababu’s convoy.
