Kimidi Kala Venkatrao, the former TDP AP chief was arrested by Vizianagaram Police on Wednesday from his residence in Rajam at around 8:30 pm.
It is known that the senior TDP leader Kala Venkatrao had accompanied TDP supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Atchannaidu Kinjarapu and Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju during their visit to the Ramatheertham Temple following the vandalization of Lord Ram idol by miscreants. On the same day, YSRCP RS MP V Vijayasai Reddy had visited the shrine. Now, when the YSRCP RS MP was on his way back from the shrine, some people hurled footwear at him.
The YSRCP MP now believing that the attack on him was orchestrated by the TDP leader Kala Venkatrao and backed by TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and Atchannaidu had filed police cases against them in the Nellimarla Police Station. TDP circles speculate that it is in this context that Kala Venkatrao might have been arrested.
