In a piece of good news for citizens, another corona vaccine has been developed in Hyderabad. A pharma company named Neodel based in the city has developed a vaccine called Neokov, which can be given in the form of drops by mouth and nose. Production is set to begin soon. The vaccine, which has proved to be efficient in tackling corona by taking just one dose, will be available soon. Neodel, a Hyderabad-based company, holds a patent with Emory University in Atlanta, USA. The modified vaccine Anakara which was used in developing the smallpox vaccine led to the development of Neokove. It has achieved good results.
Provides longer resistance
Company executives have revealed that the new vaccine provides longer resistance in fighting the coronavirus by just taking a single dose. In addition, it can be taken through the nose and mouth. It is very easy to administer. Experts believe that if the vaccine becomes available then there would be total control over the corona outbreak. The company aims to produce 6 crore doses over the next year. 600 crore doses will be produced by 2023. The vaccine will be available for Rs 140.
