The Bowenpally kidnap case took a sensational twist with the involvement of a former TDP minister Bhuma Akhila Priya. She is currently lodged in the women’s jail at Chanchalguda. Now, police who are investigating the case have added the name of Bhuma Jagat Vikhyat Reddy, son of Bhuma Nagi Reddy, and the younger brother of Bhuma Akhila Priya. Police say he too was involved in the kidnapping.
Tuesday’s turn of events
It is known that the Court had sent Bhuma Akhila Priya to three-day police custody. In this context, the former TDP minister was interrogated on the second day. When police questioned Akhila Priya regarding her conversation with people linked to the kidnap based on call data records, the former minister said that as a political leader she speaks with many people on the phone. She even denied speaking with Guntur Srinu and others who are involved in the kidnapping. When the police inquired her about the newly registered mobile numbers, she said she didn’t know anything and claimed innocence, adding that she is not even aware of her husband Bhargav Ram’s whereabouts.
Meanwhile, police managed to nab some of the accused from Goa. Around four accused have been apprehended by the Bowenpally Police. Three accused including Siddharth have been held by the police. They are being brought to Hyderabad.
However, a manhunt is still on for Bhargav Ram, Guntur Srinivas and others in connection with the Bowenpally kidnapping case.
Now a new angle in the case is the inclusion of Bhuma Jagat Vikhyat Reddy’s name by the police who suspect the former’s involvement in the case. Already, Jagat Vikhyat Reddy’s car driver has been apprehended by the police. On the other hand, speculation is that the interrogation of Bhuma Akhila Priya on the third day which is Wednesday would be a crucial one.
