The second phase of the Bihar elections for 94 seats of the 243 Assembly seats began at 7 am on Tuesday amidst tight security measures. Spotlight is on RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav and his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav who are contesting from Raghopur in Vaishali District and Hasanpur in Samastipur district. On the other hand, PM Modi who’s the face of the NDA is on a rallying spree having held almost 10 rallies in the state with two more to go. While CM Nitish Kumar is the official candidate.
In these elections, BJP is contesting in 46 seats, while another 43 are being contested by the JD(U). On the other hand, the Mukesh Sahni-led Vikassheel Insaan Party is contesting the remaining five. Earlier, in the first phase of polls held for 71 Assembly constituencies on October 28th a voter turnout of 55.69% was recorded according to the data released by the Election Commission.
