OTT platforms opened the floodgates for unique and bold content into the new age Indian homes. This is now turning ugly as shows like Mirzapur, Paatal Lok and Tandav have crossed the limits in terms of sex, violence, and foul language.
This made Central Govt. devise new censor guidelines for OTT content. Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar said that these guidelines will put an end to the objectionable content in the OTT shows. We all know what happened in the case of Tandav starring Saif Ali Khan as several petitions were filed against it in the Supreme Court.
According to these guidelines, the Ministry is going to scrutinize all the content that was showcased from November 11th, 2020. Let’s see whether these guidelines will save our drawing rooms from absurdity or not.
