The political future of the Congress party in Telangana has turned bleak as it won just two seats in the recent GHMC elections. In a bid to instill courage, Revanth Reddy told party workers that it is time to introspect the reasons behind public losing faith in the Congress.
Insulted by KCR
Revanth Reddy said that the party went to the polls in a planned manner, but TRS’ KCR insulted the party. He added that the Minister for MA&UD misled people by asking them to vote for the TRS for development rather than waste their vote for the Congress. He went on to say that at times result would not be as expected and in such cases, the leaders should have courage.
Stay united
He asked all Congress party workers to stay united in these testing times. With these elections, it is clear who all have worked hard in the party. You have given your best but the results were not as expected but, in the future, you will emerge victories. Revanth added that he was with the workers and told them not to lose hope. He also assured of standing by them in their times of difficulty. The candidates have the responsibility to work for the people even if they are defeated. It is this time they can become close to the people, said Reddy.
Special officer rule may come
Revanth Reddy said that there was no situation that the parties who have won would stake a claim on the post of the mayor. Looking at the comments of TRS, it is clear that they want to run the Corporation by designating special officers.
The situation is likely to change at any time. The party workers should prove that posts were not the only way with which the people can be served. If there are public issues, raise them, question the government and fight for their cause. These steps would make you achieve victory. In this way, Revanth tried to raise the morale of the party workers.
