Former Home Minister and Member of Legislative Council Nayini Narsimha Reddy passed away at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad, having developed post COVID complications. He was 86. “Shri Nayini Narsimha Reddy passed away at 12.25 am. He was admitted a week ago for post Covid complications with extensive lung damage,” a statement by Apollo Hospitals read.
Telangana CM KCR visited the senior TRS leader who was hospitalised and his family members on Wednesday and recalled his association with the former during the statehood agitation and also their association in the state government post-Telangana formation. The CM also directed officials to arrange the last rites of Nayini Narasimha Reddy with official honours.
As a founding leader of the TRS, Nayini had served as the first Home Minister of Telangana between 2014 and 2018. He is survived by wife Nayini Ahalya Reddy, son Nayini Devender Reddy and daughter V Samatha Reddy.
