Ghulam Nabi Azad is one among the twenty three leaders who had written a letter of dissent to Sonia Gandhi about the leadership of the party. But the CWC meeting held at his residence on Monday made him the genesis for the whole fumble.
This would be a major setback for the leaders in respective states who are termed as disciples of Azad or Kapil Sibal since they all would be sidelined hereafter following the developments. One of them is TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and sources say that he will be replaced. The tremors created by the letter were in such a magnitude that the state leaders who were in direct contact with the twenty three seniors may not have any sort of future in Congress.
AICC is also said to undergo a myriad of changes to accommodate young blood in the place of old guard. The South Indian states Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana will witness a sea change in the coming days. Since Azad has a large coterie in South Indian PCC circles, it would be no wonder if Congress goes for a total rehash. According to the Congress inner circles, the process of appointing a young leader in the place of the recently deceased Bengal PCC chief is in progress. The same strategy will be implemented throughout the country to put a check on the seniors.
