Richard Attenborough’s ‘Gandhi’ is the most popular film among those made on Bapuji. Ben Kingsley delivered an award-winning performance as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. ‘Gandhi’ was released in 1982 and portrays his life beginning from the train incident in South Africa until his assassination by Godse.

Charming hero Srikanth completed his 100th film with Krishna Vamsi’s ‘Mahatma’. It focuses on how a henchman to a politician changes his path of violence midway after he gets inspired by Gandhian teachings. Ram Jagan played the role of Bapuji in it.

ANR’s ‘Maro Prapancham’
‘Maro Prapancham’ was produced and directed by great director Adurthi Subba Rao with ANR. It was made under ‘Chakravarthy Chitra’ banner and co-produced by ANR. With an aim to realize an ideal Gandhian world, a motivated group of individuals kidnap children and raise them in an ideal environment that values Gandhi’s principles. The film failed financially, but was lauded by critics.

Rebel Star’s ‘Gandhi Puttina Desam’
Action hero Krishnam Raju played the lead role in ‘Gandhi Puttina Desam’ directed by Lakshmi Deepak. It was produced by senior actor Prabhakar Reddy. The plot revolves around the crimes of politicians which causes a major threat to the society.

T Krishnas’s ‘Desamlo Dongalu Paddaru’
