Vijay Devarakonda’s Fighter suddenly got away from the radar as its shoot never resumed after Unlock. Film analysts even speculated that the project got shelved due to financial problems as the team never made any official announcement regarding its revival.
Fighter is Vijay’s first Pan-Indian outing directed by Puri Jagannadh. It is bankrolled by Charmme and Karan Johar. Puri has filmed minor portions of it in the slums of Dharavi prior to the lockdown. As the majority of the film needs to be filmed in Mumbai and foreign locations, the team is said to be waiting for the end of the second wave of the pandemic.
Coming to the update, the makers have replaced Suresh Gopi with Action King Arjun for the role of hero’s father in Fighter. Arjun’s craze in all the industries across the South made them come to this decision.
Fighter is a mass mafia thriller with a racy screenplay in which Ananya Panday is playing the female lead. The team is going to start the new schedule in January and Karan is keen on releasing it in the second half of 2021.
