As the Lok Sabha by-election approaches in Tirupati, political parties have intensified their allegations. Already during Chandrababu’s address, the issue of stoning and 2 lakh stolen votes is being discussed mainly in the constituency. Recently, the BJP brought another issue to the fore by raising YSRCP candidate Gurumurthy’s religion and has also made a series of allegations against the party leaders.
What are BJP’s allegations?
If the YSRCP candidate is really a Hindu .. he once asked why Srivenkateswara Swamy, who is considered a Kaliyuga deity, did not visit them. Along with that question, the BJP also released another photo. The photos revealed that Gurumurthy had not visited Tirumala Tirupati till now, while at the same time he went to churches and offered prayers, blessings and made nominations. This was alleged by AP state in-charge Sunil Deodhar, MP GVL and AP BJP president Somu Veerraju.
SC reservations don’t apply to those who convert
Tirupati Parliamentary constituency is an SC reserve constituency so only SCs can contest. However, Sunil Deodhar said that YCP candidate Gurumurthy was not a Dalit and that SC reservations would not apply to those who change their religion. Gurumurthy went to the church and took the blessings and questioned how he could become an SC after all this and said that they would lodge a complaint to the Election Commission about this. He commented that the nomination was invalid. Although the BJP has made many criticisms on this issue in the past, it is now being discussed in the constituency with the release of the photo. Locally, the BJP is campaigning on the same issue.

On BJP candidate?
The YCP is also campaigning against the BJP candidate. Ratnaprabha, the husband of a Karnataka cadre IAS officer, has been accused of practising Christianity and indirectly alleging that she is also a Christian. However, the BJP did not respond to the issue. Not only that .. Gurumurthy is propagating that he is a Christian and some leaders say that if there is any evidence that Gurumurthy has converted, but he will also be disqualified. Vishnuvardan Reddy, the party leader, commented that Gurumurthy, who entered the ring in this election, was afraid to say anything about his religion.
Worshipped our village goddess
YSRCP candidate Gurumurthy responded to the allegations. He commented that he was a Hindu. He also commented that he had worshipped his village goddess before making his nomination for the elections and that the photos and videos were there. He said the BJP’s campaigns were untrue. However, even though it is said that the photos are being released, it does not look big on the outside. The BJP has also turned this issue into a campaign. On the whole, on the one hand, during Chandrababu’s speech, there was a discussion on the issue of stoning, fake votes and the issue of Gurumurthy’s religion, which is creating some tension in the YSRCP.
