Having begun their innings at 9/1 on the third day, Jasprit Bumrah scored 2 off 17 balls, Cheteshwar Pujara was out for a duck having faced eight balls, Virat Kohli scored 4 off 8 balls, Ajinkya Rahane was out for a duck having faced four balls, Hanuma Vihari scored 8 off 22 balls, Wriddhiman Saha scored 4 off 15 balls, Ravichandran Ashwin was out for a duck having faced a single ball, while Umesh Yadav scored 4 off 5 balls and Mohammed Shami who scored a single run off four balls retired hurt.
For Australia, Josh Hazlewood was the star bowler who scalped 5/8 in just five overs of which three overs were maiden. While Pat Cummins took the remaining wickets having bowled 10.2 overs with figures 4/21.
