The JanaSena and BJP which were at loggerheads, hurling allegations against each other until recently, surprised everyone with their latest move. Having called a press meet, both the parties announced that ‘We Are One’ and met the Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan requesting him to ensure that the Panchayat Elections are held transparently in a free and fair manner.

The parties requested the Governor to look into the monetary incentives scheme announced by the state government towards encouraging unanimous elections. This announcement also alerted the AP SEC to monitor the situation. They also emphasized that online nomination is allowed for Gram Panchayat polls. It is also learnt that the JanaSena and BJP asked the Governor to ensure that the elections are held as per democratic system. On the other hand, AP BJP Chief Somu Veerraju alleged that the ruling party are re-writing the constitution to file cases against the Opposition. He went onto add that even Courts are being taken for granted and alleged that false cases are being filed against BJP leaders. He even found fault with the ruling party for accusing BJP’s involvement in the vandalism of Hindu temples. Somu Veerraju even lambasted the YSRCP Government of playing religious politics for its political mileage.
